REFRESH Your Soul

We are mid-way through January.  How are you doing?  How is your soul?  Are you taking moments to allow the Lord to refresh your soul? This last week, did you take a moment and allow the Lord’s creation, His glory, to refresh you?  If not, it is not too late and whenever you are needing a refreshing from the Lord remember to take a moment in His creation.  He will refresh you!

I have been reading through the book of James.  It has been a while since I have read this book.  James does such a great job outlining how we are to live and behave as those who have been saved through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.  It has been a refreshing time to take a moment and look at how I am to live as one saved through Jesus.  Am I following and obeying God’s word?  Because when I am my soul is at peace and I feel fresh and ready to face each day.

When you are in need of refreshing your soul, go to God’s word.  It is full of truth and wisdom.

Psalm 19:7 says:

7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.

This is such a simple thing to do and yet sometimes we go to everything else but God’s word. 

  • Ladies, right now and each day this week take some time to be in God’s word. 
  • It is prefect for REFRESHING your soul. 
  • It is trustworthy and will give you wisdom.
  • Do not wait another day!  Go to His word and dwell there.  Your soul will thank you 🙂

Being REFRESHED

Refresh-the-weary-smallHello LASF Ladies!

Have you ever taken a moment and noticed your surroundings?  Noticed all the things that grow and happen in creation?  Noticed a sunrise on a crisp, clear, Winter morning and all the colors it produces?  And when we take that moment and take a deep breathe a sense of refreshing begins to happen.  Why is this?

In Isaiah 6:3 we read:  And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Nature, all living things, the awesome array of colors we see are made by God and show us His glory.  The whole earth is full of His glory.  In Genesis it says that we are made in God’s image and He breathed life into us.  So, it totally makes sense why we feel refreshed when we spend time in God’s creation.  We are being washed in His glory, being refreshed by God and His glory.

Ladies, are you weary and need to be refreshed?

Jeremiah 31:25 says, I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.

A Little Challenge:  One way to allow the Lord to refresh you and your soul is to let His creation refresh you.

  • I want to encourage you this week to take a moment, breathe deep and observe God’s creation: His glory.
    • I know that when you do you will begin to feel the Lord refresh your weary soul.
    • For me, whenever I watch a sunrise or sunset I am filled up with awe and wonder and my soul feels refreshed.  The colors in the sky are amazing and it just fills me up!
  • I would love to hear what you observed in creation and how the Lord refreshed you.

He REFRESHES Your Soul!

I am ready for a new year. 

Are you?

I am ready for the Lord to wash over my soul and be REFRESHED!

Are you?

Let’s take this month to allow the Lord to do just this:  Allow the Lord to make your soul fresh again.  Once you are refreshed, you will be ready to follow what the Lord has planned for you this year.  Let’s get started!

I was reading Psalm 23 and what a great place to start and begin allowing the Lord to REFRESH our soul.  He wants to REFRESH your soul.

Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV) says:

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2     He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3     he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.

I believe that when we follow our Shepherd (we follow Him by obeying His word) we will lack nothing in our soul. It is like lying in green pastures.  God’s word is like being by quiet waters.  It REFRESHES your soul.  Also, when we obey and follow His word we will be walking on the right path, the path that leads to Him and ultimately heaven.

Our circumstances do not really matter.  They can be calm or crazy, awesome or horrific, grounding or unsettling.  What really matters is our soul.  When our soul is refreshed, we can then live.  Truly live no matter the circumstances.

I want to encourage you to take a moment and read PSALM 23.  Then as you print off your print-able may you be encouraged and reminded this week to allow the Lord to REFRESH your soul.  Oh, I also have a print-able that you can use as wallpaper on your electronic device to be reminded that the Lord wants to refresh your soul.  Mine is on my phone as my lock screen saver!  I love it!!!

      • And says in Romans 14:19 says, So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual up-building.

We made it to 2021.  Wow!

The word REFRESH keeps coming to my mind.  Are you in need of some REFRESHMENT?  I know I am.

As this month continues and we are in the word, I am looking forward to allowing the Lord to REFRESH our souls.

A Cup of JOY!

Hello Ladies

I am excited to have you join me this week and I want to invite you to join me for the next four weeks in June as we dig into God’s word to see what He has to say about JOY. (just to let you know, Joy is one of my most favorite words!)

Today and for the rest of this month we are going to:

  1. Dig into God’s word to read about what God has to say about Joy
  2. Search for how we can have JOY in any circumstance and what that means
  3. Learn some practical things to do to start experiencing the deep-felt JOY God wants us to have.
