embrace humility

“embrace humility” is not only understanding how God wants us to live, but that He walks with us in humility.  “God resists the proud, but shows grace to the humble.”  Jesus’ life depicts how we should live.

This Easter around the world churches are closed due to the coronavirus known as COVID-19.  Many families are peacefully assembling around their computers to watch or participate in live chats and broadcasts of their church’s Easter service within the walls of their homes.  Two thousand years ago Christians did not meet in church buildings; they met in the homes of believers.  Today, we are once again meeting in homes, calling on the Lord to end the virus, so we may meet with the our church body again.

I felt compelled to create this video and the cross in honor of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Hopefully, this video brings you encouragement during these times.  An old hymn comes to mind, “When We All get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory.”

Jesus is Risen. He is risen indeed.

Verses referenced throughout the video

“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”  Micah 6: 8 [NIV]

“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for ‘God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.’ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1st Peter 5: 5 [NKJV]

“Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Mark 8: 34-36 [NIV]

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16 – 17 [NIV]
